Poor Maggie struggles to master her chopsticks -- it seems nearly everyone around the dinner table has something to say about the "right" way to hold them! But when Father reminds her not to worry about everyone else, Maggie finally gets a grip on an important lesson. I think it is a really cute book about how everyone is different and unique. I don't agree that she asks a "kitchen god" for advise, but otherwise I liked the story.
ReplyDeleteThank you Emily! This book does have a lovely message.
DeleteI loved the illustrations in this story and felt they were really appropriate for our diverse and vibrant Vancouver. I have the same problem using chopsticks so I could identify with the character:)
